THE Land for Lions project is a SafariBwana initiative - based upon a lifetime of living in the Zambian wilderness and interacting with the large predators both as a professional hunter in pursuit of them, as well as an active participant in their protection, survival and species enhancement.

The project focus lies in the magnificent Muchinga escarpment, an extension of the great rift valley of Africa and drops down into what many consider Africa's last eden, the Luangwa Valley. This is Zambia's strongest remaining repository of untouched wilderness and wildlife, supporting the largest concentration of Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Wild dog, Hyena and all other endemic species.

In partnership with Nsansala conservancy, our mission has been to secure, manage and protect over 200,000 acres of pristine wilderness on the rim of the Muchinga escarpment commonly referred to as Mutinondo, and dropping down onto the boundary of the Munyamadzi game management area, part of the Luangwa Forest reserve.

Tackling poaching, deforestation and water degradation head on, we provide law enforcement support, community services (clinic & schools), human predator conflict resolution and encourage conservancy partnerships with neighboring landowners - all in a bid to conserve habitat and wildlife in order to allow Lions to extend their range and thrive outside of the protection of the national park and game management area.

ALL our safaris are geared towards the success of this project and most are designed around the core areas that need support and rehabilitation.
